It has become a ritual that comes with each new edition of the UTMB® Mont-Blanc. With less than 150 days left until the event, the presentation of the new poster announces the upcoming edition, which will be taking place at the end of August in Chamonix and in 18 host towns. After a 3-year collaboration with the Lyon-based designer, Matthieu Forichon, UTMB Group has chosen to bring the artwork in-house to create its new Meet your Extraordinary visual identity.

"It is always a pleasure to reveal the poster of the year which we will use for our local, digital and print communication. For UTMB Group as well as for the partners and the host territories, it definitely marks the beginning of the adventure from an operational standpoint. With less than 4 months left until the event, our team is fully dedicated to the staging of the 19th edition of the Sommet Mondial du Trail. We can't wait to welcome the runners and reconnect with the emotions of the event", says Isabelle Viseux Poletti, Event Director.

The new graphic identity of the UTMB Mont-Blanc and the UTMB World Series was created last year, together with the MNSTR agency. The new codes and graphic elements were featured in the 2022 poster, which also highlighted the founding values and DNA of the event.

"All those who participate in the UTMB Mont-Blanc, whether amateurs or top athletes, bring their full spirit to the race. With portraits of four runners in the center of the poster - two elites and two amateurs - two men and two women, we wanted to convey this diversity of profiles, the feelings and motivations behind each entry. As for the Mont Blanc, it represents the pinnacle of the UTMB World Series circuit and the four lines on its summit embody the 4 race categories leading up to it: 20K, 50K, 100K and 100M," explain Sanna and Charlotte, the two graphic designers who created the poster.

For the first time, the poster features the color codes of the new UTMB World Series circuit, which includes the UTMB Mont-Blanc, the venue for the circuit's Finals starting in 2023: the OCC (50K), CCC (100K) and UTMB (100M) races. Runners participating in one of the UTMB World Series races in 2022 will have the opportunity to collect Running Stones to use in the UTMB Mont-Blanc 2023 lottery.
