2022 PTL® Entry process
Entry process into the PTL® may vary depending on the team's advantage.
Terms & Conditions & Registration dates
Registration dates
Pre-registration will be open from January 6 to 18, 2022 during which time the team leader will apply for the entire team.
Each team member must create their own runner’s account before the team leader submits the application.
The team's application is successfully submitted when the payment for pre-registration (secure online payment) is completed.
Conditions of participation
Only teams of 2 or 3 people may apply. The application must include a file which lists the previous experience of each team member. Technical experience in a mountain environment, sporting background and team motivation will be evaluated. Each team will be required to complete a self-assesment form (available here). Any other additional documents will not be taken into account.
When pre-registering, the applicant team will also be requested to pay by credit card a €300 security deposit (secure online payment, subject to bank charges).
Warning: Having the ability to communicate with the organization during the event (Race HQ, volunteers, rescue teams...) is essential to ensure the safety of all participants. That is why it is mandatory that at least one team member is fluent in either French, English or Italian (the languages of the organization). A good level of speaking and understanding, including on the phone, is required and will be tested at the race pack collection. The PTL® Committee reserves the right to prevent a team from starting the race if it considers that the aforementioned condition is not fulfilled.
Self-assesment form
This form is to be filled in electronically and attached to the application.
Evaluation process
The PTL® Committee will meet to review each file. Only the Committee may take the decision to accept or refuse an application. Its decision is final.
Results of the evaluation process / Lottery
If the number of teams accepted by the PTL® Committee exceeds the maximum number of runners that can be accepted, a lottery will be carried out.
The draw will be organized in such a way as to favor teams of 3 over teams of 2.
If all the teams of 3 selected after the examination of the files do not reach the limit of 300 runners, a draw will be made among the teams of 2.
If the total number of teams of 3 selected after the examination of the files exceeds the limit of 300 runners, a draw will be made among the teams of 3 and no team of 2 will be selected.
The results of the examination of the files (or of the lottery if it takes place) will be posted on January 26, 2022 at 10:00 (Paris time) in the list of registered participants on our website and on your runner's account, and confirmed by email.
Accepted applications and selected lottery applicants
If the team’s application is accepted by the PTL® Committee and if the team is selected in the lottery, the team leader has 11 days, from January 27 to February 6, 2022 to finalize their registration by paying, by credit card, the balance of the entry fee.
Rejected applications and/or unaccepted lottery applicants
If the team's application is rejected by the PTL® Committee, or if the team is not selected via the lottery, the €300 deposit (except bank charges) will be refunded within one month from the date of pre-registration.
Runner's commitment
When registering, each runner undertakes the following commitments:
- I declare that I have read and understood the rules and ethics of the race.
- I understand and agree to the terms and conditions of participation as per the regulations
- I undertake to respect the rules.
